  9. During a peaceful demonstration on 12 November 1991, more than 200 people were
  10. killed by troops in the Santa Cruz cemetary in Dili. One of them was Domingos
  11. Segurado, a 28-year-old East Timorese teacher. Acoording to international
  12. reports Domingos Segurado was killed because he was active in the non-violent
  13. movement for independence after Indonesia's occupation of East Timor in 1975.
  14. I urge you to see to it that this mass killing of unarmed demonstrators be
  15. impartially investigated and that those responsible be brought to justice.
